CAPTAIN GORDON A. A. WILSON

...was born in Dublin, Ireland.
Gordon started his interest in aviation as an “airspotter” cycling to the airport to collect aircraft registrations and photos.
He immigrated to Canada to take Aeronautical Engineering at S.A.I.T. in Calgary.
Deciding to “fly ‘em rather than build ‘em”, Gordon joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a pilot. He was assigned to fly the CF100 with 414 Electronic Warfare Squadron, Air Defense Command. His secondary duties included Flight Safety Officer and Squadron maintenance test pilot.
Gordon joined Pacific Western Airlines and flew the Boeing 727 to the high arctic and the Lockheed Hercules overseas. He enjoyed flying the Boeing 737 for 10 years throughout North America and the Caribbean. He flew the Boeing 767 and the McDonnell Douglas DC10 with Canadian Airlines on their overseas routes.
A loss of medical category forced a career change, so Gordon chose to form Safeflight Consulting Ltd. and is now an aviation consultant specializing in standard operating procedures and flight crew training for major carriers and flying schools.
A recently completed project was a multi crew standard operating course for the ALSIM 200 MCC simulator operated by the Pacific Flying Club for the British Columbia Institute of Technology aviation program.
Gordon lives in Vancouver, British Columbia
